Some mornings are busier than others, and that’s when the temptation comes to grab a quick pastry or other high carb “treat”. Because breakfast sets the metabolic temp off, it’s important to start your (and your family’s) day off right with a healthy breakfast with plenty of protein. An antioxidant rich, filling, delicious smoothie can easily fit that bill. To increase protein even more without adding sugar or any flavor, consider adding a scoop of collagen protein which increases the protein content by 10-18grams depending on which powder you choose. If the smoothie is lower in fat (none of these are), consider adding nut butter, avocado, or MCT oil to make it even more satisfying. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables ensures you are getting the vitamins and minerals your body needs to run optimally. Feel free to play around with the recipes in this PDF, you can use raw milk or any kind of alternative milk you like, you can use your favorite nut butter, or leave it out. It’s totally up to you!
